چکیده

the introduction of l. vannamei to iran was initiated when high mortality occurred in shrimp farms of abadan in  2002 then in bushehr during summer of 2004.. inspection of l. vannamei for infectious agents , specially virus and  bacteria and relationship between them were the main objectives of this study. therefore about 240 samples consisting  of shrimps of l. vannamei were collected from farms in abadan for virology studies by pcr procedure (iq2000  diagnostic kits and wit multi vir iq2000). also 120 shrimps of l.vannamei were tested for bacterial infection and for  histopathology had been collected randomly and preserved in avidsons fixation and then transferred to 75% ethyl  alcohol for storage. (hepatopancreas , gills and cuticule). finally it has been detected vibrio sp.in various organs of  l. vannamei. histopathological studies have shown inclusion bodies of wssv in various tissues. also 40% shrimps  with wssv and histopathology infected. total vibrio in hepathopancreas increase ( 4.9×105 cfu/gr) with intensity  wssv in tissue.

Increased nucleoside diphosphate kinase activity induces white spot syndrome virus infection in Litopenaeus vannamei

Nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDK), which has the same sequence as oncoprotein (OP) in humans, can induce nucleoside triphosphates in DNA replication by maintenance of the deoxynucleotide triphosphate (dNTP's) and is known to be regulated by viral infection in the shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. This paper describes the relationship between NDK and white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) infection. The ...

Transcriptome Analysis of Litopenaeus vannamei in Response to White Spot Syndrome Virus Infection

Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is the most extensively farmed crustacean species in the world. White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is one of the major pathogens in the cultured shrimp. However, the molecular mechanisms of the host-virus interaction remain largely unknown. In this study, the impact of WSSV infection on host gene expression in the hepatopancreas of L. vannamei was inves...

Sequencing and De Novo Analysis of the Hemocytes Transcriptome in Litopenaeus vannamei Response to White Spot Syndrome Virus Infection

BACKGROUND White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) is a causative pathogen found in most shrimp farming areas of the world and causes large economic losses to the shrimp aquaculture. The mechanism underlying the molecular pathogenesis of the highly virulent WSSV remains unknown. To better understand the virus-host interactions at the molecular level, the transcriptome profiles in hemocytes of unchalle...

Draft Genome Sequence of White Spot Syndrome Virus Isolated from Cultured Litopenaeus vannamei in Mexico.

The first genome sequence of a Mexican white spot syndrome virus is presented here. White spot syndrome is a shrimp pandemic virus that has devastated production in Mexico for more than 10 years. The availability of this genome will greatly aid epidemiological studies worldwide, contributing to the molecular diagnostic and disease prevention in shrimp farming.

Effects of dietary astaxanthin on the immune response, resistance to white spot syndrome virus and transcription of antioxidant enzyme genes in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

Three different experiments were conducted to study the effect of dietary astaxanthin on the immune response, resistance to white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and transcription of antioxidant enzyme genes in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Each experiment included one triplicate treatment group (fed with 80 mg/kg astaxanthin supplemented diet) and one triplicate control group (fed with...
